Just four games into her W-League career and 15-year-old Ellie Carpenter has already blitzed her way into the Matildas' set-up.
Carpenter, a defender for Western Sydney, is the sole uncapped player in a 23-strong squad named by coach Alen Stajcic for a quickfire training camp this week in Canberra.
The Cowra product only signed for the Wanderers ahead of this W-League season but, after playing every minute of every match in the first four rounds, she has clearly done enough to impress Stajcic and his Matildas coaching staff.
Carpenter has a golden opportunity to entrench herself in Australian colours as the national team looks to finetune their preparations ahead of February's Asian qualification tournament for the Rio 2016 Olympics.
"A number of players have been impressive in the opening rounds of the Westfield W-League season and deserve their call-up into camp, so it will give them a chance to come and be part of the national set-up and put their best foot forward," Stajcic said.
"We want to build greater depth in this team and have a range of options and players to choose from come the Olympic qualifying tournament, a tournament which we are under no illusions is going to be extremely difficult."
Experienced players dominate Stajcic's squad, which mostly contains those Matildas who went on last month's tour of China.
But Carpenter isn't the only addition, with Canberra United pair Ellie Brush and Caitlin Munoz, Sydney FC due Leena Khamis and Teresa Polias and unattached goalkeeper Casey Dumont, who all missed the overseas trip, also included.
Meanwhile, the Matildas have accepted an invitation to play a friendly against South Korea on November 29 in Incheon.
"There are limited opportunities to play matches against other countries before the Olympic qualifiers so we're grateful to be able to have these games and this time over in Korea Republic," said Stajcic.
